Energy Impact Illinois

Energy Impact Illinois (EI2) was a three-year program (2012 to 2014) for single-family homes or 1-4 unit buildings that made it simple to lower energy bills and improve the comfort and value of their homes. This program retrofitted thousands of homes with advanced energy-efficient features.

Energy Impact Illinois connected homeowners with trusted energy advocates that showed homeowners how their homes use and waste energy. Our energy advocates also identified the most cost-effective improvements to make their homes more efficient and comfortable. Many of the homeowners that worked with the program qualified for the Illinois Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® certificate.

Find Out How Your Home Was Improved Through EI2

Homes that completed the EI2 program were improved to be warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, keeping families more comfortable. The most common upgrades were improved air sealing and added insulation, which are two of the most effective ways to make a home more energy efficient. Homes that reduced energy loss by 15% received an Illinois Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® certificate.

Your home’s advanced energy efficiency features can increase your home’s value and make it stand out in the real estate market. If you’re looking to sell, refinance, or simply invest in your current home, knowing what advanced features your home has will put you one step ahead.
